Dr. Altwerger is responsible for assisting in creating and executing translational and clinical medicine initiatives that will accelerate the company’s innovation and growth. Additionally, he works in New Haven, CT, and four other locations and specializes in gynecologic oncology and obstetrics and gynecology. He is affiliated with Bridgeport Hospital, Yale New Haven Hospital, and Stamford Hospital. Before joining Aspira, he served as Assistant Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Wellness Committee Director, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences at Yale Medicine.
Dr. Altwerger graduated from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo. He performed his fellowship and residency at Yale University. Dr. Altwerger is the author of several papers and the recipient of multiple awards including; the Laxmi Baxi Award for basic and translation research on folic acid receptors in uterine cancer, from the Society for Reproductive Investigation, The John J. Meehan-Clifford R. Miller Award from the Yale School of Medicine, and the Clyde L. Randall Society Award in Gynecology-Obstetrics from the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences.
